Filtration
The filtration is the mechanism by means of which particles are catched in the surface of the filter whose size is greater than the size of the pore. The particles of the size smaller than the specific one the pore cross the filter or can remain retained in the interior by means of some other mechanism.
Size of the Pore in the Filter Plates
The size of the pore of a filter is identified by the diameter of the particle that hopes that it is going to retain with high and defined degree of effectiveness. Usually they are express in micrometers (µm) - also known as microns - and make reference to the size of the particle or the micro-organism retained by the filter with a specific degree of effectiveness.
Pore Size Depending on Use
The porosity indicates the pore size according to the filters used.
This value is used as the last 2 digits of the references of all articles marked.

Recommendations in the Use of Filter Plates
-
Before the First Use
Before being used for the first time, is advisable to put through suction, hydrochlorate acid or nitric acid i warm up, and to later wash them with abundant distilled water.
Immediately after being washed many hasty carefully they can be eliminated of the filter doing to pass a water obstacle in sense in opposition to the one of filtration. When the filters obstruct by dust or dirt usually they clean easily with hot solution of a detergent.
-
Never Use for Cleaning
the sulfocrómica mixture tends to obstruct of permanet form pores of the glass filters.
Never to be used in the cleaning of the filters hot solutions of hyfrofluoric acid (HF), hot concentrated of phosphoric acid (H3PO4) as well as hot concentrated alkaline solutions. If these products have to be filtered, a widening of pores of the filter will not be able to be avoided.
